i am trying out the below code

the problem occurs in this part of the code

            }
        }
        return al;
    }

if it is a file or directory WITH ANY SPECIAL CHARACTERS then the files are not recognized

how to ignore thses special characters in file names and directories

If i understand correctly you are trying to read the mp3 files, you can try

    {
            public boolean accept(File dir, String name)
            {

            }

   private void getMp3FilesName()
    {
        File home = new File(getDownloadsDir());
        if (tracksReaded == null)

        if (home.listFiles(filter) != null && home.listFiles(filter ).length > 0)
        {
            for (File file : home.listFiles(new MP3Filter()))
            {
                tracksReaded.add(file.getName());
            }
