I am trying to determined exactly which ciphers to explicitly enable in Liberty Profile 8.5.5.5 with JRE 1.7 in order to address the error message users are starting to receive in latest versions of FireFox and Chrome about weak ephemeral Diffie-Hellman ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key
This logjam exploit page gives guidelines on which ciphers are safe. "...remove any of the ciphers that begin with SSL_* or TLS_* that also have DH or DHE in the Name [except] ciphers that have ECDH or ECDHE in the Name" http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21957980

This has dozens of ciphers. It seems like I really should only need to enable a few for FF/IE/Chrome/Safari compatility for my internal service needs, but have no idea how to pick them and it seems silly to explicitly list dozens of these.

So you should use the format the JRE your are using supports.
You did not provide your complete SSL configuration. At least I don't think you did. The enabledCiphers attribute belongs to the ssl element not the sslOptions element.
So if you have a ssl element with an id of "defaultSSLSettings" it could look something like this:
