Scala returns "error while loading package, Missing dependency 'object java.lang.Object in compiler mirror'"

Question

I am new to Scala, just installed IJ (intelliJIDEA 2017.2.4 version) but while after creating project getting below error:

Here are the versions of software I am using:

• Java version 9
• SBT :1.0.2
• Scala :2.11.11

What can I try to resolve this?

Currently JAVA 9 isn't fully supported by Scala / Play framework. So better stick to version 1.8.0_xxx
