Jython Cannot Load org.sqlite.JDBC / Classpath Issue?

I am having some trouble with Jython and the SQLite jar file. For some reason my application is unable to load the Sqlite JDBC class and throwing the java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.sqlite.JDBC error.

I downloaded the jdbc jar file from http://code.google.com/p/sqlitebot/downloads/detail?name=sqlitejdbc-v056.jar&

My project structure

/myproject

/myproject/Lib/sqlitejdbc.jar

/myproject/jython.jar (standalone)

/myproject/Application.py

Command I am using:

$ java -jar jython.jar -Dpython.path=Lib/sqlitejdbc.jar Application.py

The classes in sqlitejdbc.jar need to be available on the java classpath too, which is actually tricky when using the standalone jython.jar via java -jar. From the Java Documentation ...

-jar

When you use this option, the JAR file is the source of all user classes, and other user class path settings are ignored.

So it it not possible to add anything to the classpath when using -jar. However, see this answer for a solution - basically add the jython.jar to the classpath too (either using -cp or CLASSPATH) and run the org.python.util.jython class directly.
