Why maven task is giving error with Java 8?

I am using maven to build my application. when I tried to run the clean install it is giving me an error, but it's the same thing working fine on my friend's computer. The difference is I am using java 8 while he is using java 7. Here is my debug log :

I also tried after cleaning my .m2 director, but it did not help me.

Check your settings.xml. Given the error you described on this comment, it seems your mirror or repository is redirecting into an HTTP Site, returning HTML instead of XML.
