Normally one thinks of an AirTag as a blackbox, but with 3rd party Find My applications appearing I'm wondering if there is API that lets the "tag" know it's being queried, especially by a particular device?
I have an idea for a small device that would spend 95% of its time sleeping and only activate when a particular device came close. I was going to do this with BT, but I'm wondering if Find My could replace this as the device needs that support anyway (it will be lost on occasion).
