HTTP Request in C

Question

i'm coding a http request library for a project. I'm using winsock2's sockets to create http requests and i don't know what i'm doing wrong. There is not much on google about http requests in c so i thought i'd ask here.

This is a simple GET request function that connects to the server, sends a GET request and receives response.

BTW I learnt that i shouldn't use sprintf cause its unsafe and can cause buffer overflows, what should i use instead that still makes me do the same "string-formatting"?
