When using the annotation:

@RunWith(SpringRunner.class)

Using IntelliJ IDEA CE 2019.1, I get a Junit Vintage section in tests, and it throws this exception:

java.lang.Exception: No runnable methods

Full output:

I ended up getting this same issue and spent too long fighting it. In the end it turned out it was because my test class was 'public', which is the default when manually creating the java class, but generation via the quick menus does not.

public class MyTest {

// to

class MyTest {

Make sure that you've imported the right @Test annotation. Import

import org.junit.Test;

instead of

import org.junit.jupiter.api.Test;
0
On

When I replace that annotation with (as shown in this [Baeldung article][1]):

@ExtendWith(SpringExtension.class)

It gets rid of the JUnit Vintage section entirely, which fixes the issue.
