I simply would like to connect to an Oracle database from SQL Server.
- WS version: 2012
- SQL Server version: 2012 (v11.0.7507)
I'm having difficulties in properly installing the Oracle Instant Client 21.00.
It's showing in Drivers tab in ODBC Data Source 64-bit, as below:
But is not showing under Providers in SSMS, as below:
All documentation that I found mention the client showing up in Providers, I have done all sorts to make it so with no avail.
- Added relevant path to environment variables Path.
- Restarted server several times.
- Added Oracle db setting in
tnsnames.ora - Tried adding a System DSN data source (Now deleted)
Interestingly enough I have previously installed this in Win10 with no problems.
